THE BEGINNING OF THE END ... OR IS IT?

On the BBC's channels on the Astra digital platform the first sad and tangible signs of the beginning of the end for the BBC's CEEFAX service had appeared.

But wait... what's this...?

May 2002 and the BBC appears to have had some sort of change of heart. Perhaps they have realised that people don't want to fire up their computer (or the son/daughter's computer) just to find out what's on tv.
They have now brought back a very limited service on the Astra digital outlets of BBC1 and BBC2.
Cookbook ... ???
Super Sips ... ???
Oh well... Better than nothing, I suppose.
But still no news (not even good news) and no weather pages either
There are tv programmes...
but just BBC1/2
... and no Now/Next either.
Still, I suppose we should be grateful for anything at all these days.
At least we have a few TV Links pages...
and even the odd celebrity!
A couple of pages...
even has sub-pages going into double figures.
And, you know, I could have called this page An Evening With Ceefax on Astra.
...because you've now seen the whole thing.

Er... That's all folks!
